Being the scrawny guy is never fun. It’s the age old gym story – the skinny little guy walks into the gym, hits the weights and months later he’s a tank. This is very possible to achieve, but it takes a hell of a lot of work and knowing what to do and how to do it correctly. The basic idea is to train hard – heavy weight to shock your muscles into growth, then fuel your body with ample (high quality) food to build the muscle. This sounds easy but if you’ve got a genetic disadvantage of being a ‘naturally skinny’ person, otherwise known as a hardgainer ( like Muscle Growth guru Jason Ferruggia – pictured right) than gaining that mass can seem impossible without resorting to dangerous (and down right stupid) steroids.
The first thing I’ll say is steroids are not the answer, the dangerous side effects are just not worth it. Getting a massive muscular build is simply a matter of training and lifting properly while knowing what food to eat to ensure growth, then of course getting plenty of rest and sleep to allow your body to grow.
